WARNING: RANT AHEAD!

Alright, i'm tired of people running all over me telling me that my art needs to improve. I understand what you all are doing, trying to help me improve, but really... you all can be hella harsh!

"Your arms are completely out of proportion."

"Your legs are too big, need to be smaller."

"You need more muscle and an understanding of the human body."

Yes, these are all comments i've received and many numerous ones that i won't disclose...

Now, i understand your trying to help me improve! REALLY, i get it inputted into my tiny little brain day in and day out by my boyfriend (which is good since i have MAJOR issues), but come on... Be good with the artist...

It all sounds like you all would rather me draw PRECISE realism, wait, no... you'd still critique me then and say the mouth is too big for the size of the eyes.

PLEASE!! No one has a perfect body! No one has perfect proportions! EVERYONE IS DIFFERENT!!! How am i supposed to explain that to everyone if every single of my characters need the above statements. I've dealt with it so far, being ran over with comments telling me how to do my art, and it is now in fact REALLY annoying me. True, i have lots to learn, but i will learn MY style, not anyone else's. I mean, look at all those manga's out there, some of their proportions are REALLY bad, yet they sell.

Coincidence? I THINK NOT!!!

I guess i've been too soft with giving good comments, since i know of people on DA who think they do an awesome job, but in fact, STILL need to learn themselves. I'm sorry if a picture of mine looks strange in a way. You must remember though, it gives not only a personality to the picture itself, but it also strays away from the feeling of ORDINARY!

Now, have i had enough?

Nope.

You guys can give me comments, but you must realize my style is my style, not kishimoto's, not your best friend's, not YOURS! It's mine! No anime is the same! No drawings are the same and if they are, it's plagarism! If you copy a pic, you only copy it for learning purposes! Nude poses are some of the things we've been learning in our Art 101 class. Thus, I believe i have a good standing in the difference between reality and actual anime art.

Not enough muscle, WHAT DO YOU WANT!? A body builder?!?!

Legs are too big, SOME people's are! What are you going to do about it?

Arms are out of proportion, when you look, your arms go past your hips, if the body is in a different position, they will always look like they are out of proportion.

Need a better understanding of the human body... This one gets me the most actually. I have been drawing the female body since i was six years old, i've been studying the human body since then! If i do not have a good grasp on it, do you think i'd be drawing the human body MUCH? "The female body is never straight, it's full of curves." WRONG! The female has some straight lines believe it or not, because not EVERY body is the same.

I have a passion for art, everyone knows this, i will do just about everything... but when it feels like my own art is being bashed in some obscene way, it does IN FACT get taken to heart! I mean, would you like hearing things like, "Your hand is completely wrong, the fingers are too straight, and they don't look like hands... I suggest you practice those more before you attempt to draw them further."

Sounds nice right? Well, professionally it does. Honestly, there is always a harsh critique whenever i see someone draw the human body, but like i said, that's my style, so i never really say anything... Instead, i say "In my opinion." Do others? No. It's not their art, why should they care right?

I always say, "If you have nothing good to say, then don't say it..." cuz the likeliness is if you do give me something that does hit me, then i will not comment on many of your pictures any longer!

Critizism is nice only when it is constructive. In other words, try and stick to the positive words instead of the negative words.

An example: "Stated" = positive. "Alleged" = Negative.

I'm a writer, i know the difference.
